I oktober 2017 blev journalisten Fredrik Virtanen namngiven och uthängd av en instagramkändis som våldtäktsman. Kort tid efteråt publicerades historien i flera traditionella medier. Under några korta veckor vänds hans liv upp och ner. Boken är i tre delar, och börjar med en tillbakablick på några sommarmånader 2006, som kommer att hemsöka honom drygt tio år senare.
